"The Story of An Hour"

"The Story of An Hour" Questions during the weekend.
1) What is the main idea of the story?
- The main idea of the story is that Mrs. Mallard was feeling freedom as she was ill. She imagined many things as she was going to pass. Allthough she was devistated when her husband pass, she still imagined good things and portrayed happiness when she passed.
2) What is the summary of the story?
- Mrs. Mallard was devistated as soon as she found out that her husband had passed away. However, she still had an exubernent imagination of seeing her husband. She felt like she was feeling freedom approaching her. She was prepared to pass because she wanted to be with her husband. In the end she died of heart disease that the doctors say it was the joy that kills.
3) Was Mrs. Mallard Happy?
- Mrs. Mallard was happy when she passed because she was able to be with her husband in heaven. She was feeling freedom and making herself happy.
Certain Points:
Plot- Wept about her husband's death.
- She imagined good thoughts as she viewed outside the window.
- She felt freedom as she was prepared to pass.
Setting- She was in her room locked
Characterization- First she was depressed and filled with sorrow. Than feeling extremly happy and in freedom.
Point of View- She was prepared to pass and to be with her husband that is why she was happy.
Tone- Sadness, Tragic
Theme- Death set her free and happy.
